POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Driver
Department: Traffic Control Operation
Reports To: Traffic Control Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The driver will commute to various RoadSafe locations and project sites, drive vehicles, assist team and operations in daily tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Will travel on state and local roadways to RoadSafe locations in various states.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record, CDL is a plus but not required.
- Must be able to lift to 75 pounds and stand, sit, and bend for long durations.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and perform daily tasks required for the job.
- This position will primarily serve as both a Pilot Car Driver, escorting traffic through a work zone for long periods of time, or as an Attenuator Truck Driver, shadowing Traffic Control Crews in work zones.
- Split shifts may be required.
- Other duties as assigned when not utilized as a driver.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required
- Current valid State Driver's License
- Must be able to drive, sit, and stand for extended periods of time and in a variety of weather conditions
- Must be able to receive, understand, and communicate specific instructions
- Must be able to successfully pass background check and DOT drug screen
- Must have 2-5 years of driving experience
- HAZMAT certification preferred but not required
- Must be able to read and write in order to complete paperwork, comply with road signs and have knowledge of federal motor carrier safety regulation
- Must be willing to work in a primarily outdoor environment and travel
